Just like in the real Pokemon games, the power of Water-type moves will increase if the user is holding Mystic Water. Same goes for the Charcoal for Fire-type moves and the Miracle Seed for Grass-type moves (although these are unavailable because you only get the item corresponding to your starter's type).
