Randomly I decided to go program a pokemon iv calculator for figuring out how strong your pokemon is. It's still a work in progress but here's the link if you want to check it out: https://pycosites.com/pkmn/ivcalc.php The main idea behind this calculator is it makes it easy to share your pokemon after you calculate its stats, so if you want to show off your great ivs you can just grab the link from the bottom of the page and give it to people instead of having to type everything out yourself. So far it's got all pokemon whose names start with A-B and I'll try to add at least a few letters a day until its done. Anyway, on a related note are there any other calculators for pokemon that I should program? It's a fun way to practice my javascript =p

Hmm... ever consider making a stat calculator? Basically, you enter in a specific Pokemon and its level, and the calculator generates the possible stat ranges for it, both in the wild (no EVs) and fully trained with 252 EVs (primarily the first part though). I find it useful when I'm SRing catches so I know the ranges ahead of time instead of by inference, as well as checking the ranges of Pokemon hatched by eggs to narrow down which ones to check Could try it out if you're bored

It's really not a problem or anything, but I noticed Greninja is missing the "r" in its name! :P

Ev stands for "effort value" and basically how it works is that your pokemons stats raise slightly as they win battles, which is why trained pokemon will be stronger than wild pokemon of the same level. A full explanation can be found here: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Effort_value#Modern_system If you just captured or hatched a pokemon, its evs will all be at 0. But you wont get much useful information from this calculator if your pokemon is a very low level. Anyway, tonight I finally finished adding all the pokemon and their various forms to the iv calculator. I also fixed the typo in greninja, hopefully its the only mistake I made =p I think I probably will look into making a stat calculator next, it should be a lot easier than this was because I already have all the base stats =D

Nice job I was using the stat calculator today when looking at the rangers for the Aipoms I was breeding and checking out at the Battle Institute - towards the end of your breeding project, you know what IVs you're looking for, so knowing the ranges allows me to tell the IVs without a calculator, which was nice. Managed to get the Aipom I wanted this morning Ambipom - #424 (Jolly) HP: 31 Att: 31 Def: 31 SpA: 1 SpD: 27 Speed: 31 It's nice that it works offline as well - don't even need an internet connection to sustain its use.

It's been a long time since I posted about these calculators here but they've come a long way over the years. I've got stat/IV calculators for all 7 generations as well as Let's Go and now I'm turning my attention to capture calculation. So far I've got https://pycosites.com/pkmn/catch_gen1.php which covers the first 2 generations.
