I've decided to start a new tradition wherein I will be posting one or more pieces of Pyco Mundi flavor text every Friday. This will generally be flavor text that I created within the past week, though the first few will be older stuff. It could be something that will appear in game, such as a Pycopedia entry, or something that will appear on pycomundi.com. To start things off, I'm going to share a few pieces of info which will likely be mentioned in various flavor texts. Eventually I'll have pages on the Pycopedia for all this stuff as well as a news section on the actual site to post this in. First of all, talking about time. The Pyconion age began ~12800 years ago with Dieces arrival and ended in 3000 BCE which is when the current age (the Pycocene age) began. Next up the world, it's pretty much the same shape as Earth but all the names are different: Here's a map of the big landmasses with names And finally, a bit of terminology. This list will likely get updated over time. The word for the animals in Pyco Mundi is Pycotroph (pronounced pyco-troaf). What would be gyms in Pokemon are Guilds in Pyco Mundi, which have Guild Masters and hand out Guild Tokens. The pokecenter/mart equivalant is called a Trainer Lodge and they are a bit closer to the pokecenters you'd see in the anime, with beds for trainers and so on. Paragons are an extremely rare set of humans that are born with a natural aptitude for using Pyco Energy.
Now that all of that is out of the way, let's get our first Flavor Text Friday out of the way. We've got a couple pieces of origin data for Pycotrophs. These will appear on the website when I redesign the Pycopedia to have space for them.
QUOTE: Flavor Text Friday #001
Singet are thought to have originated from the Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra) in Europe during the Pyconion age. It is thought that they began as a Noxious type but it didn’t take long until their poison glands were adapted into fire glands. Searus seem to have appeared around the same general time that Singet adapted to the fire element. Searus proved to be much more mobile than Singet and lead to the species spreading across any accessible landmass. Unlike Searus, Infernox was a later addition to the Singet line. It appeared late in the Pyconion age, with the first confirmed sightings in Nipu. After the introduction of Infernox, the spread of the Singet line was no longer restricted by the oceans.

The exact species of Sea Urchin that developed into Urich is unknown. What is known is that it happened off the coast Vonita in the late Pyconian age. Urich have remained in that general area since their first appearance, never venturing much further north than Ayenn.
