Hey, this is my progress so far. Basically what you can expect from this game is something between Doom and Duke Nukem.. Well the only Duke Nukem kind of feature will be smartass comments by the player as he picks up items/kills enemies etc. Anyway - I will be uploading a demo soon and anyone who would like to test the game is most welcome. You'll show up in the credits - hopefully its worth it lol. So far I'm working on the first level - I'm aiming for at least 12 levels and they will by no means be small. Also expect allot of secret areas, fully animated gun animations, at least 8 different enemies (no re-coloured super versions) and hopefully a challanging experience. I like my games to be a bit of a challange. No easy mode here lol. Anyway heres the story so far: You are Derek Hubris, a badass (sound familiar?) cool goverment agent. (Don't expect a suit and tie though, you're a blonde haired beanie wearing guy who doesn't give a damn what he wears. Afterall youre going to be covered in monster blood by the end of this). Just 7 days ago an outerworld portal appeared in the City Subway - with that came hundreds upon hundreds of blood thristy creatures. The City is in panic, and so far the Goverment has managed to seal off all enterances to the Subway - bar one. The fortifications won't last much longer and someone needs to deal with mess. That someone is you. You have been given the gratifying task of going down there and cleaning the subways out - before its too late. One thing - expect some mastermind at the end of all of this - and don't expect him to show you any mercy. So basically levels will be split with different areas of the Subway. After completing all the objectives on the level (as to avoid linear key grabbing and other typical features) the Train will appear which you will then board and move to the next area. The Train isn't running itself though, a goverment agent is doing that for you. After you can shoot monsters - but who said you could drive a train? Heres some screenshots: Image Image Note: I'm having a few problems with the AI. I can't seem to make the enemies move around objects to get to you without them hugging the walls and running away (very strange). I was thinking of using a waypoint system but thus far I haven't been able to program it. Any suggestions? (Testers wanted)

looks cool.... ill test for u. im having that problem with my people in zombie horde... ive been thinking of trying some radial collision system but idk...

ok in create event of ur controller global.grid = mp_grid_create(room_width,room_height) obj_enemy.mpath = add_path() mp_grid_add_instances(global.grid,obj_solid,precise collison checking true or false) step event of obj_enemy mp_grid_path(global.grid,mpath,x,y,obj_player.x,obj_player.y,true) (true means the enemies can move diagonally as well as horizontally and vertically)
