| Hi everyone!
This topic is here so the main one doesn't get too crowded. David C, the pokémon Jade spriter, will use this to show the sprites he has made.
You can give improvements/compliments if you want.

| Please make the welcome the water starters, based on the prehistoric animal: Plesiosaur. The animation for the last evolution is yet to come and so are the back sprites.

| I'm not gonna lie, your overworlds are better... but that's cause your overworlds are absolutely amazing :)
I still think these sprites aren't that bad at all bro, you've got a lot of skills already down and if you just keep practicing you'll sprites will look more professional in no time :)
can't wait to see more :) |

Sorry I didn't reply quickly.
They'll be added in as soon as I've got the back sprites. |

Yeah, I was going to redo them. I finished it and realised, gosh as they evolve nothing much changes but the size... those were the first ever proper pokemon sprites I've ever done so the water ones that came after were obviously going to be better. I'll keep the first evolution but will change the last two. Or, if DM would like, we could redo the whole pokemon completely as there are already quite a few turtle pokemon =/. All I need is some ideas for the actual pokemon, like an animal suggestion. The back sprites are coming soon for the water pokemon =D. But here are the back sprites for the water starters. The last evo has no animation, I hope that's ok :S. I'll make it one day though

| Thanks for the back sprites. Doesn't matter about the last animation for now.
About the fire starter. It's up to you really. I like them, though I do agree, something more needs to change. If you want to make a whole new pokemon, it's up to you
If I think of any ideas, I'll tell you. |

| I think Charmander was already a salamander/lizard. Look at the last part of his name. But meh, I'm not the one thinking up ideas |

| I know Charmander has the end part of salamander, but it doesn't really look like one. It's really hard coming up with one that hasn't been thought of yet.
You could put off re-doing the fire type for now, and do the grass type while we're trying to think up a good idea, but only if you want |

| Yeah, I'll probably base it on a herbivorous dinosaur - if that's ok? I mean we already used Plesiosaur as the water-starter base. Dinosaurs are just much more interesting than most animals of today. |

| I was thinking that I'd change the way I do these pokemon sprites. I won't have checkered shading anymore as it looks more professionally done that way, like the ones in D/P. Here's a comparison between the two styles, including the "at the moment grass-starter" which is based on the dinosaur: Crichtonsaurus, which is based on Michael Crichton :
Tell me what you think, I need to know which style to stick to. I prefer the new one but I need opinions. |

Sorry, that isn't much help. I probably like the new method slightly more, as long as you are happy doing it that way. |

| What do you mean? I never said anything about it to you. I'm trying to match gen. 4's style, but with better pokemon, region, story etc. I would prefer a newer style
David C, as I'm working on the battle engine right now, and my temporary sprites are horrible , do you think you could do a couple of sprites for me?
The first one is the battle platform/ground - the round thing pokemon are on. It needs to be approximatley 150x60 and be a grassy style - like D/P/Pt's style.
The second sprite I need is a pokeball 16x16.
Lastly I need the back of a trainer. This needs to be a number of frames that animate to make the trainer throw a pokeball. The number needs to be a factor of 30, and more than 5. The more the better. Ie. 5, 6, 10, 15 and 30 would all be acceptable numbers. I will make the frames into an animation of 30 frames. Halfway through the frames, the trainer needs to no longer have the pokeball in his/her hands.
Thanks! |

| I will, but it will take a while so don't expect it too soon . Ok, I've just finished the front sprites of the grass starters, no animations. This is the new style that I'm using for the pokemon sprites.
Okay! Huge update... I think. I've added quite a few battle engine sprites from custom status conditions, HUD and platforms. The pokeball however is 20x20 and the gender sprites are exactly the same as the Platinum sprites. I've made a pretty large sheet of sprites I've done for Pokemon Jade which includes all of these and also included what the battle engine would look like. (If that's ok).
Note: The HUD is green because this game IS called Pokemon Jade. This however does not mean it must be green . No colour has been requested yet, but I will change it if enough people want me to change to a specific colour. Just though a nice green would be fitting with the game name.
Almost forgot to talk about the trainer sprite. I need ideas for the actual character but unfortuneately it will take some time to make in good quality.
