In that case, you could also say that getting Krittle is a daily event, because you can only get it at night-time. The way I define events is an externally caused happening. For example, if you released a key to the farm every year, that would be an event, because it's not automatic.

So you're saying that an event only happens once, and things that happen every year like the farm are considered yearly/monthly/daily occurrences? |

Something that's automatic and doesn't require an external force (eg. a new mystery gift being set), is just a timely occurrence. Otherwise, it's an event. |

So then the farm update is an event and the christmas event is just an occurance. |

I just found out that Mayzie learns moves at the same pace as Harvesta up until Shadow Sneak, which it gets one level early  I'll be keeping tabs on what else it gets 
EDIT: Mayzie learns Leaf Blade on Lv. 31.
