Carburn looks nice. When are you going to update the other Pokémon that have only one Pokédex entry?

Sorry for the long delay without updates. I had a whole thing planned for Spring Break where I would upload a new Pokemon everyday for at least five days straight, but I ended up leaving my flashdrive at home so I couldn't scan anything I drew >_< Even though I'm back at my dorm and have my flashdrive, I still can't update because I left the printer I took home during break (way to go, me...) -_- It'll probably have to wait until Friday or Saturday to update the thread, which sucks because I actually have a bunch of ideas and concepts close to completion. Anyway, all I could do for now is add a section for Echora's evolution, which will be called Mystress. Try and guess what it'll look like - the end result may suprise you Additionally, I've also got a repose of Echora to go along with its evolution, as well as drawing Mystress in an alternate pose. I'm also working on a new addition to Zephair's Travels depicting a very small part of Primrose Town, but I can't promise that it'll be done by then. I'll announce any other Fakemon I'll make before Friday if some portion of its evolutionary family is on the thread, so there could even be some new Fakemon lines @TD: Alright, thanks for your imput on Carburn. As for 'Dex entries, I have plans to do a bunch of them, but there's a special way that I write the entries that's kind of slowing me down (might write about it in another article). Some Pokemon just don't have proper niches yet, or aren't developed enough for me to write about them. However, some of them haven't been updated simply because they're getting redesigned and I don't want to write them until I'm satisfied with how it looks. So yeah, I do think about how the Pokemon interact within their environment when I write them, but it can get slow when I haven't developed a particular 'mon enough. @Raikouth: Yollip's signature has a special tag that replaces the text inside it with the username of the person viewing it. So he hasn't written your name in his signature - there's just something inside it that copies whatever the viewer's name is. EDIT: I've gotten comfortable with the newer picture of the Grass Starter so I'll be taking the older one off the front page. As always, I'll post it in a spoiler box for reference:
Old Grass Starter
EDIT #2: I'm currently focusing on updating the 'Dex with new entries for all Pokemon that deserve it. I've currently finished Especk and Ravey's lines, as well as releasing their base stats. I also did very minor changes to some Pokemon's Description (for example, Gleetree's "Berry Bush" to "Cordial"). Not sure if I went too far with Ravenge's new 'Dex entry, but I'll leave it like that for now and see what other people think. EDIT #3: I've created a Silkie redesign, and while I'm not 100% sure on how it looks now, I do believe that it's better than before so I've added it to the front page Additionally, I updated its Dex Entry so it has two entries now. As usual, I'll put the older image in a spoiler box for reference:
Old Silkie
EDIT #4: I've added a new fakemon on the thread I don't have a name for it yet, but it's set to appear in a graveyard, and it represents deceased souls that have both good and evil inside of them, and thus linger around. The idea of spirits is something that's a focus of the current story I'm working on, so you might hear more about them in some time in the future. I'll update its section with more information as time passes. Additionally, I updated Jellterr's Dex Entry (although it was pretty close to the format I was using anyway), and also revealed the base stats for all of its forms, including its "Total Defense" Form, which is now called the Stronghold Form. I have concept sketches of most of these forms, although I'm holding off on them for a moment because they take a while to draw and color. EDIT #5: I've completed the repose of Ravenge that I was working on, so I've added it to the thread Now that those three are out of the way, I can finish the Zephair scene I was working on. As usual, I'll put the old Ravenge in a spoiler box for reference:
Old Ravenge

The new artwork of Ravange is more clear and I also like the new design of its tail! However, comparing the wings, to me I like the gold trim on the wings of the old artwork versus the gold edge of the newer... but overall the new art is much better! :)

Hey guys I ended up taking a bit of a break since finals were coming up. I have more free time now, however, at this point in time, I've misplaced my drawing books, making it difficult to come up with new designs for now. So for now, I'll be focusing on updating existing content and fixing the page up a little. More information on Pokemon X and Y has been released, which has me inspired. One of the things that concerns me about the thread is the lack of information about the basics - mainly towns and starter Pokemon. I'll be working on that over the next few weeks - I currently have information written about the first few towns that I'll organize and release at a later date. What I've done at the moment is the creation of a sheet for the Grass Starter that depicts it in various emotions. What I'm thinking is that by drawing it out in a bunch of different ways, it may boost its appeal a little. When I finalize the other two starters, I'll most likely do the same thing with them. I may even do this for some other Pokemon that I like, but probably not too often, as drawing each of those pictures still takes almost as much time as a standalone one I've added it to the front page, and I'll also put it in a spoiler box for convenience:
Grass Starter Emotion Sheet(New!)
Another minor thing I've done is the addition of a Changelog at the bottom of the first post - I'll be using it to silently keep track of any additions I've made to the thread that I haven't updated the thread to announce - I prefer doing larger posts rather than small updates so I can keep track of everything. Of course, if you're reading this within a few days of this post, it's most likely empty 'cause I've already updated XD I actually created the Changelog well before this post, but I haven't announced it until now. One of the additions I've made a few months back is an updated picture for the Sun Butterfly Fakemon (I seriously need to come up with some more finalized names...) It's already on the front page, so you can check it out there. However, I'll place its older picture here in a spoiler box for reference:
Old Sun Butterfly Fakemon (New!)
Other things I've done was placing a rough draft version of the newest version of Zephair's Travels. However, I've since decided to rework the angle a bit, so I'm just going to redraw it - thus, it'll take a while longer and will look different when it's done. I'll also be creating a logo for Zephair's Travels soon, since I'd like this to be a continuing series. Finally, a couple of Pokemon have had their base stats released, and maybe one or two Pokemon received updated 'Dex entries. I'm not really sure which ones were updated though, but I can say that there are still plenty more that need the treatment. I might try to updated one 'mon per day or something...not sure how I'm doing to go about it yet, especially since I'm focusing on the early parts of the region. However, if you have any specific requests for Pokemon you'd like to see updated or have any questions about, you can ask me and I'll tell you @Yollip: Thanks for the support I do agree that the wings on Ravenge are probably its weakest aspect - normally, I would go back and touch up on it, but the way I draw makes it difficult when the 'mon is primarily black colored, so I'll have to go back and draw it over later. I still have the physical sketch though, so it isn't too bad - when I finish, I'll let you guys know. @ Clicky: Gloplant does indeed need a redesign - however, I'm not sure where to take the design as of now. I am thinking about making Gloplant based less on slime and more on tree sap, but I don't know what to do besides that. When I come up with an idea for it, I'll put it up straight away So that's all I have to say for now. I'll should be updating the thread relatively soon

Hello everyone I was gone for a little while, but I'm back now, and I've been doing quite a bit of drawing during my freetime. I believe I can put up at least one new piece of art everyday this week, so the thread will get lots of different updates over the next few days. Day 1 To start things off, I've created a repose of Mynami - I'll put it beneath the original art, and I'll also put it here for convenience. I had it done much earlier today, but i spent a little bit of time working on the colors a bit. I might still adjust it here and there, but I think it's alright at this point. Expect something else later today
Mynami Repose
Day 2 I would have loved to release the Zephair's Birthday Picture, but I've having problems getting the background to be how I want it. If anything, I'd at least put up the line art, but I don't think it's that impressive by itself so I'm just going to hold off on it. When I'm satisfied with how it looks, I'll update this post with the picture. Day 3 Today's picture is more of a spontaneous creation. Initially, I was thinking about using a similar scene for another version of Zephair's Travels, but as I made it, I liked the idea of putting Gleetree as the center focus of the work. Because of that, this one will be a standalone picture instead of being a part of a whole- I might decide to do more of these as time progresses, but we'll see what happens Check it out either on the front page or the spoiler box below
Trail of Happiness - Route 1
Day 4 Today's picture is a special case, as it was made for an upcoming article I'm working on. Thus, the artwork is there more to help put some of the ideas into a visible form, rather then for appeal. I'll be putting up the article up relatively soon - still getting it all together at the moment. Maybe you'll be able to guess what it's about I've made space for it on the second part of the thread - although I'll draw more attention to it later, you can also see it here if you're curious.
Altering Pokemon Mechanics Picture
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've decided to temporarily stop the seven days of updating - I still have the sketches I've planned on making, but I've realised that in order to make some of them how I envisioned, I need to practice making different kinds of backgrounds. So when I'm not busy, I'll be practicing a few different styles and scenes - hopefully, this will also improve the quality of future Zephair's Travels and other scenes I make However, I'm back in school now, so I'll be a bit busy for a while. I should be able to get at least a few drawings out though. Anyway, as a test, I've gone ahead and updated the standalone picture of the Grass Starter so it's more in line with the Emotion Sheet I placed below it. I'll be putting the older picture in a spoiler box for reference.
Older Grass Starter Picture
EDIT: I'll place the older Mynami picture here as a reference:

On December 1st, I began to reformat the thread in an attempt to revive it, and gave daily updates as to what I was working on in this post - however, I accidentally entered the site through the editing post button by mistake, and ended up deleting the whole thing. Even though it does suck, I do think I mistimed the revival a bit - I can't work on it as much as I'd like to now, even though I wanted to revive it and work on it prior to Christmas. What I'll do is to work on the thread in silence until I feel that I have enough from Day 1 to last, and continue to post updates and daily discussions afterwards. Hopefully, I'll be able to make the thread prettier and more productive by the end of January

Hey guys A quick update on what's going on. I've been working on a few designs and hammering out some of ideas for drawings over the past couple of months. However, I don't want to revive my thread right now because I want to have enough stuff completed beforehand that would allow me to sustain the thread, even if I stopped drawing for a while - basically, a buffer. What this would allow me to do is to have a fall back plan if I don't finish something in time. It sucks having to wait three weeks or even a couple of months for an update, because I don't have anything planned to draw. Basically, I figured that consistently updating would keep more interest, rather than the sparse, huge lump of art. Eventually, how my thread will work is like this: the thread would update twice a week, on on approximately Tuesday, and one on Saturday or Sunday (haven't gotten the exact times worked out yet). Tuesday's update would be a picture of a Fakemon, new or old. However, the weekend's update would update another part of the thread - whether that be info on towns, a new article to read, or even something else entirely unpredictable Additionally, I'd have people ask questions about certain Fakemon if they'd like (maybe i could leave some sort of question or something) and I'd answer these questions in-depth the next time I update. I'm trying to schedule it in a way that'd be practical for me, which is why I haven't done anything so far. If I decided to start up the thread now, I'd probably be able to manage for only about two weeks. When I get enough stuff done to where I think I can handle this, I'll begin to tidy up the front page visibly. You'll just have to hold tight a little longer. However, one thing I can do to ease the wait is to put up a quick sketch of a Fakemon. I'll be doing this every single Sunday until I revamp the thread - these take little time so they don't interfere much. I am taking requests, but if you have nothing to suggest, I'll still put a random 'mon of my choice up! I've been working to get my scanner to show clearer sketches with no editing. So far, I've found out that tracing the lines with marker works alright XD I'll leave the first picture here in a spoiler box - check back here next week for another sketch
Pre-Revival Sketch #1
EDIT: As promised, I've drawn another quick sketch for you guys I didn't get any suggestions from the people I asked, so I picked something random from the thread, which happened to be Basilake. So I'll be putting his sketch in a spoiler box. I'm still experimenting with some of the colors - I realised recently that I don't have a large variety of markers at the moment, so I had to improvise XD I've also drawn up a picture to use, but I can't show you guys yet. Perhaps I'll make a counter of sorts to show my progress - not exactly sure how I'll set it up, but we'll see! Anyway, it'll be in a spoiler box as always:
Pre-Revival Sketch #2
EDIT #2: Hello again I've been working on a checklist of things I wanna complete before I unveil the revival of my thread, and it's coming along alright so far. I also have another piece of art for you guys, but not at the moment - since most of my classes for the later half of the week were cancelled due to the weather we've been getting recently, I decided to go home earlier than usual, and so I can't scan anything now. But rest assured - I'll have the image posted sometime tomorrow. As for what it is, I asked my friend to pick out which Fakemon I should draw this time, and he chose Roxxic I'll update tomorrow when I can put up its artwork EDIT #3: Alright, I've got the picture of Roxxic now. I was going to upload it Monday as promised, but I wasn't feeling very well. So to make up for it, I've decided to color it, just like any standard drawing I'm still trying to get the Poke Ball effects to look nice, but I'm failing miserably at the moment, so I'm gonna try to see if I can come up with something later I'll put its picture here, in a spoiler box as always.
Go, Roxxic! Request #1
EDIT #4: I've realised that with everything that's been happening over the past week, that I never uploaded the picture I should have put up last week >_< Anyway, I'll make up for it by putting up three different pictures sometime on Monday Look forward to it! EDIT #5: Alright, I've finally got all of these pictures ready, so it's time to update First off, I have a picture of Everost, which I decided to draw. I'll put it in a spoiler box below:
Pre-Revival Sketch #3
Additionally, I made a quick drawing of Zephair, since I didn't get any suggestions for next week's drawing:
Pre-Revival Sketch #4
For next week's drawing, ICEBURG suggested that I draw Pharhino, one of his Fakemon, for him. I decided to draw up a couple of sketches for him, but the more I was working on it, the more easily I could imagine it within the desert region of Setone. So I asked ICEBURG if i could add Pharhino to my thread, and he gave me his approval I've added Pharhino to the main thread, right under Destork in the Setone Region's box. I'll also leave the pictures I made here as well. I'll be writing an article concerning it sometime after I restart my thread - look forward to that
A New Fakemon Appears!
Alright, I'm back again - stopped uploading during Spring Break (though I was still working on the thread), though that's over so I'll resume the weekly updates. This week's drawing is a simple sketch of Teapoe. Feel free to check it out in the spoiler box below:
Pre-Revival Sketch #5
EDIT #6: Alright, I've been working on some more of the finer parts of the thread in anticipation for its revival, so I kinda missed out last week. But I think I may be able to revive the thread sometime next month? I'll post a more definitive date when I'm sure I can keep up with the updates. Anyway, I do have this quick sketch I made in preperation for another drawing I made - since I didn't update last week, I suppose I could show you guys...

Hello everyone I've been hard at work on my thread for the past month, and I'm pleased to announce that sometime in the middle of June, my thread will be reopened I've got just enough done to feel comfortable sticking with my twice-per-week updates, so I'm just going to announce the news now. I'm still getting my ideas organized, so I won't announce the specific date yet - but it will be reopening shortly XD Just hang in there EDIT: Quick Update as of 6/29: I've been working on some minor parts of the thread that I can visibly update over the past few, such as HMs (feel free to check that section out) and reorganizing other parts of the thread. The only thing stopping me from restarting my thread is the schedule XD Need to map all this out first by weeks so I don't get confused Shouldn't take longer than a week Again, just hang in there XD Sorry for the wait EDIT #2: As of 10/19: School's been keeping me pretty busy over the past couple of months >_< I have a bunch of drawings stockpiled up, but not enough of them are scanned for me to reopen the thread, not to mention the general lack of time. Though I'll try to update most of the thread by next week, so there will be less to do later...

It's been a while. Still, even though I've been away for so long, I still get inspired by new ideas that I want to draw. And as of late, I've had more free time to practice my drawing than before. With all that said, I'm officially re-opening this thread! Here's a picture in commemoration of this event:
Reopening Celebration!
Most of the miscellaneous changes I did towards organizing this thread have been steadily completed, even though I haven't actively updated. The only things that need to be done are organizing the text-based information into a series of fun-to-look-at infographics, and well, adding more art to the thread, of course! The picture-based infographics will come in time, but for now, I'm going to add a few more Fakemon to the front page. I've used a star icon Image to indicate which spoiler boxes contain new additions from this point and beyond, so it shouldn't be too difficult to pick out which ones are new. But for clarity's sake, I'll introduce most of the new additions here. First up, an evolution for Zephair, who is one of the earliest Fakemon in the dex. It can channel wind energy around its head and tail, and uses that power to soar through the skies as it pleases. Have a look:
Squarrel
Following that is a new evolution for Silkie, who is also in the Pandine section of the list. Silkie does have a middle evolution as well, but I'm reworking the concept as the design direction changed significantly from when I first made it. I'll re-upload those lost designs as I finalize them. This design is based on an adult silkworm, but also a fan dancer, with some geisha elements thrown into the mix. Feel free to see for yourself:
Tessilkie
That being said, when working on a concept, I often do multiple attempts at drawing, usually for my own benefit. I tend to get design elements down better when drawing something from different angles or positions. It would be kind of a shame to discard them, or hide them away... So from now on, Fakemon concepts I do can also get two additional sets of art: Emotion Sheets, which depict a Fakemon exhibiting different facial expressions or body positions, and Attack Sheets, which depict a Fakemon in an action pose. I've placed a few of them over the years to test how I feel about them, and those extra poses can add a lot of flair to a design, so I've decided to officially make this a thing! Each Fakemon can have one of each, and I may go back and add to them as I see fit. But, since those take longer to prepare compared to single images, they will have to be added more gradually. That being said, Tessilkie does have an Emotion sheet already prepared, so feel free to check that out:
Tessilkie Emotion Sheet
A few other Fakemon have had Emotion or Attack sheets added to their page already, including the Nature Starter, Gleeseed, Nautower, Polia, and Mynami. I intend to add more images to other Fakemon I design in the future. Here are an example of how they look like:
An example of an Emotion/Attack Sheet
Oh, and I went and redrew Gleeseed's base art. It wasn't part of the plan for the initial re-opening, but I felt it would be nice to do. I still rather do like the old art for what it is...has a kind of child-like innocence to it. So I won't remove it like i typically do for base picture updates. Why not say hello to Gleeseed here:
Hello Gleeseed!
A few Fakemon such as Zephair, Nautower, and Mynami have received new base art! Over time, older Fakemon designs will get updated art, or new redesigns all together! I will share those in the near future. For the interest of space, I won't share those three here, but remember that you can follow the star to find these images on the front page Image Finally, I've been wanting to introduce a more gradual rate of new updates, instead of the rapid fire updates that I do followed by extreme pauses. I normally tend to upload as I make designs, but those periods where I have little to upload results in stagnant updates. I've drawn this picture to illustrate the current schedule I'll stick to from now on. For now, the thread will update every Wednesday with a new piece of art. I have a decent buffer of art I have sketched or completed that I can upload gradually, so the thread should be able to receive constant updates this way. In fact, if you check out the celebration image, you'll see a design or two that aren't even on the main page! Those will come in due time Oh, and since this is an art thread, it'd be boring if I just wrote the current update schedule So I went and drew a picture for it instead. The picture itself will be updated if my schedule changes. Check it out!:
Weekly Update Schedule!
I have plenty of ideas I've like to upload here in the near future! And feel free to leave and feedback or suggestions about what you see here!

A quick update, since the initial revival was so close to update time! This week has the updated design for Especk, which I've placed in the main page under the Pandine tab You can use the star icon Image to find it, as always. The design is a bit non-expressive, since the idea behind the redesign was for Especk's main personality trait to be unknowable at just a glance. I may add a separate image to its base picture when under the effects of Anger Nerve, or perhaps show that off in another way. But it is a solid enough update for now. For convenience's sake, I'll also leave an image of Especk's redesign here as well:
Especk Redesign
I've also gone and updated its dex entry to coincide with its updated appearance. I'll likely do this with any Fakemon that gets updated this way. This update also removes the previous image of Especk from the front page altogether. I've always catalogued design updates on older posts, though with me changing image hosting sites, those images aren't actually displayed anywhere. I may group together old images and place them somewhere else in the future, but I'll have to think on that. EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and given Pharhino an Emotion Sheet! Note that its base art hasn't been updated, but that will come in time. I'll place the new art in a spoiler below:
Pharhino Emotion Sheet
I had meant to upload a little bit more, but due to my computer updating, there wasn't enough time. To make up for it, I'll have multiple pieces of art ready for next week! EDIT: I've gone ahead and added two more images to the main thread! One of them is a new Fakemon, although the concept is actually one of my earliest ones. I've since altered the evolution path for it, which is why it's now appearing on the thread! It lives secluded in the Snowspire Mountains, and the eggshell that it hatches from serves as armor until it evolves. I'll place the image in a spoiler box below:
Here's Chikice!
I've also gone ahead and made seperate art for Especk under the effects of its Anger Nerve ability! It was a bit strange having Especk's updated Dex Entry describe its temper while the base image is so calm, so I decided to have a seperate picture to show what that Dex Entry describes. That image will be under Especk's box in the Pandine section of the main page, so it shouldn't be too tough to find. As a bonus, I replaced the old star symbol with a much more stylized one Image I may replace it with something more simple to prevent it from being all over the front page, but it's fine for now. That symbol is likely something I'll reuse down the line for some artistic drawings. Also, as a quick aside, I've been having cpu troubles as of late, so I'll need to update my machine to be able to continue to work as I have been before. Images may come out a day or two late as I make do until said upgrade arrives, but I'll still keep drawing at the pace I described before. ------- EDIT: I recently had an idea a few days before Christmas of a couple of my Fakemon in Christmas-based attire or similar iconography. Of course, I had the idea so close to said date that there wouldn't be a way to get it out so quickly, but I suppose the start of the new year is fine Although it was meant to be a quick picture, I did have some fun it with, and ended up adding lots of extra detailing to it. That also means that it'll take longer to finish, though! It's about three weeks worth of actual art, so in order to not stall for too long, I'll add pieces of the picture to this thread as I finish, and then tie it all together at the very end. For now, here's a picture of Winter Mynami!
Winter Mynami
Additionally, I've also gotten the new computer, so I have the means to continue work on my thread. I am still adjusting to it though, so I'll power through on my old one until this Christmas piece is finished, and then create a new piece on this machine as a true test run. As an aside, the color balance between my old one and this one is quite different... EDIT: For this week's piece of Christmas Art, here's an image of the Grass Starter in winter attire! Should really get around to naming this guy sometime, but I'll think of something in time. You can see the image here:
Winter Grass Starter
I'll do some minor detailing and additions as I put all three images together. The next image will some in about a week's time! EDIT: The last of the three Fakemon I've illustrated is here! It's Zephair, surrounded by various berries and some Christmas-related plants. Have a look and see:
Winter Zephair
All three of these images will be touched up slightly and put together in one image. That image will be next week's update, and then this thread should resume updating normally on each Wednesday. EDIT: I've made some touch-ups to each of the Christmas images and placed all three images together. The background idea I had partially rendered ended up getting corrupted though, so there won't be a background for this piece. With that said, I'll place the image of all three together here, and leave them separate on the front page, as it's easier to organize that way.
Christmas Art Compiled
Now that that's over, the thread will resume updating normally, which is every Wednesday. EDIT: For this week's update, here's an Emotion Sheet for Gleetree! It's generally always happy, so not quite a large range of emotions to show off, but it should be pleasing to look at, nonetheless! I'll place it in a spoiler box below:
Gleetree Emotion Sheet
EDIT: For this week's update, here's the current version of Laambloom, which is Baaraam's evolution. I recently did a heavy revision of the entire line, so it's quite off base from the initial form. I'll come back around and re-do Baaraam in the future. I may also need to revise their names, since they aren't entirely based on sheep anymore, but I'll have to think of something fitting first This design incorporates elements from various forest animals, as well as both flower and flag-bearing! Anyway, here's the image:
Laambloom
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and given Basilake a repose. This means that the previous image of Basilake will be removed from the front page. I've done some very minor modifications to its design, but nothing major. This image and the previous one are also the first ones drawn solely with my new computer, so coloring may look different as I've been testing out different color patterns. Additionally, images tend to come out larger than my previous computer, so I shrink them down to a size suitable for this thread. I'll place the image in a spoiler tag below:
Basilake Repose
EDIT: I noticed that when adding Laambloom to the main thread, that I had forgotten to put up a second upload to make up for a delayed pause from before. Figured I might as well add something to the thread now, even if it isn't update time yet Today's addition is a Silkie repose. In terms of design, it hasn't changed at all, but the higher-quality artwork should make up for that! I'll leave it in a spoiler box below:
Silkie Repose
Additionally, I've (finally) gone ahead and given a name to Region 3, which is the Metion Region! Out of the three regions, it's the least developed, but to give a general idea about it, it's a land abundant with forests and mountains, where many people respect nature and leave it and the Elementals living there undisturbed. The three mini-regions form an alliance to trade resources and technology, so each region has developing areas with influences from the other two lands. I'll describe the entire setup in-depth in the future ------- EDIT: This week's update is an Emotion Sheet addition for Zephair! Zephair is one of my favorite Fakemon to draw, so it's highly likely that I'll end up doing a second Emotion sheet of some kind in the future. As an aside, the magician's hat Zephair was a quirky addition I made and ended up liking over time, so perhaps I could dedicate an entire sheet to it sometime...
Zephair Emotion Sheet
EDIT: This week's update will come a bit early, as I will likely not be able to update at the typical time. Today's drawing is a Beetro redesign - to be specific, this piece upgrades Beetro's art to match the design created by Hidro! This version of Beetro is in the Pycodex, which you can check out here! This update also removes the older drawings of Beetro from the front page. I can show it off if needed, but I am quite fond of the redesign Oh, and I'll also get to its evolution soon enough. Anyway, I'll put the art in a spoiler box below:
Beetro Redesign
-------- EDIT: For this week's update, here is a picture of Stellel! This picture depicts a special kind of Stellel within the Pyramid Palace - unlike the typical one, these retain their memories of their previous life, and are instrumental in digging deeper into its bygone secrets. There are only three of them, so I depicted each one right next to each other. Stellel is a strange 'mon, so I'll likely end up talking more about it in a future post. I'll put the art in a spoiler box as usual:
Stellel (Royal)
EDIT: I made a version of the Stellel art with glowing ankhs, which I feel goes better with the art itself. So I replaced the original post with that glowing version ----------- EDIT: Got caught up in other endeavors for the past two weeks, so I'm a bit behind my personal schedule. I'll be uploading two pieces to make up for the time that I missed. For the first artwork, it's an image of Generwasp! I've had an image of Bezzap on the front page for a while now, but I've redone the entire concept since then. As such, Generwasp was designed with that new first form in mind, which will be shown off later. If you want some idea of what that will be like, the stinger bee concept will be a gender-split path from a separate, forager bee concept I've come up with recently. Generwasp focuses more on stealth and surveillance, and provides for the hive by defending against threats while the foragers feed the tribe. For now, here's Generwasp's artwork!
Generwasp
For the second piece of art, it's not a new Fakemon, but rather a Tessilkie repose! I've been wanting to redo it's main image to really finalize its proportions now that I'm more used to drawing it. I've also selected a more neutral pose so that it would be a bit easier to look at. In order for it to feel more like an upgrade, I've gone ahead and added some basic shading to the artwork - should hopefully blend together well enough to be enjoyable I'll leave the older drawing up alongside the new one, but the new one will be the first image displayed when opening Tessilkie's tab. I'll also go ahead and place the new art here for convenience:
Tessilkie Repose
EDIT: This week's update features an Emotion Sheet featuring Especk. I split the sheet into sections for both its typical demeanor as well as when under the effects of Anger Nerve, so it should be easier to relate the two. You can find it under Especk's Dex Entry on the main page, but I'll also post it here for convenience:
Especk Emotion Sheet
EDIT: I took a break for a few weeks due to a busy schedule. Feel like a waiting image for when I step away for a few weeks would be nice, but alas I would have to draw it first Regardless, I'll upload at a faster pace to make up for the lack of updates. First up is the first form of the forager bee concept I hinted at before. It's a female honeybee that uses the honeycomb it's born in as a basket. I'll place the design in a spoiler box below.
Grubee
Next up is its male counterpart. Bezzap has been on the main page for a while, but as the design concept has changed significantly, I've decided to rename it. I've gone with the name Radiwasp, which is in line with its evolution. Radiwasp incorporates aspects of modern electromagnetics in its design, though I've kept the design from being too technology-based. Therefore, it incorporates aspects of the honeycomb its born in to aid in its powers. I'll place it in a spoiler box below:
Radiwasp
To round up this family line, it's Bountee! Bountee can use its antennae to assist in collecting honey many times more efficiently than its pre-evolution. This is thanks to its developed florantenna, which can be used to both absorb flower nectar, as well as convert nectar into honey near-instantly. It can also create an explosive variant of honeyglob with its antenna when in battle. I recently redesigned this one, incorporating aspects of a merchant into its look, which I feel makes the design more distinct. I've placed this new addition into the main thread, but I'll also place it here for convenience:
Bountee
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and made new artwork for the thread! Rather than a new Fakemon though, I've made a new piece to replace the initial image displayed from the thread's reopening. This image has a bright background, so it should be quite eye-catching This Easter-themed image will be the first one to display on the thread. I may do occasional updates on it as I finalize details in the upcoming days. Also, I'll likely do seasonal art in a similar manner and rotate the front image out, since these images give me a new way to practice drawing backgrounds. I'll also have Zephair in each image somewhere, so consider this a successor to the older "Zephair's Travels" images, where I would show off Zephair in various locations around the regions. As an aside, the painted egg-shaped stones in this piece are themed after various Elementals found in Pandine - see if you can identify each one! Anyway, I'll place the Reopening image in the "Seasonal Art" category of the main page, and I'll also place the new image here for your convenience:
Zephair and Friends - Easter Festival!
EDIT: I've gone ahead and updated the thread! For this week's update, I've gone ahead and given Generwasp updated art. Even though it was a more recent addition to this thread, it was made before I had updated my computer, and thus its quality was not the same as the rest of its family. I've also updated its design to be closer to the original vision I had for it, as I had removed some design elements before its initial appearance to make it come across as less tech-based. Coolness ultimately won out though, so the updated posing and design elements serves to show that aspect better. I'll be removing the older art of Generwasp from the front page, and I'll also place the new art in a spoiler box below:
Generwasp Redesign
As an aside, future updates will resume the weekly upload schedule I set before. as I had taken a break while undergoing renovations. --- This update features a new Fakemon named Hydrake, which is a split evo of Basilake. Despite being a split evo, it's more of a mutated and corrupted version that is unnaturally created, as opposed to naturally evolving. Hydrake's abilities make it too disruptive to exist in the wild, and they are unable to reproduce, making them a rarity that only exists in captivity. Hydrake's design is inspired by cellular viruses and different types of reptiles. I'll place its art in a spoiler box below. I'll also make some minor adjustments over the next few days as I get the coloring details done.
Hydrake
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and put up Gleetree's attack sheet. Of note is Gleetree's strongest attack - Nature's Wrath! That move unleashes elemental energy from a held berry, and can be seen charging on the bottom right. I'll place this image under Gleetree's tab in the main page, so feel free to check it out there. To make up for an uploading pause, I'll be adding some additional Gleetree-related art. First of which is an updated design for the berry that each Gleetree naturally grows. I've named it the Aceida Berry, and it's a mix between a pomegranate and a lingonberry. It's rather ordinary in appearance, but it does have some special properties when mixed with other kinds of berries and medicines. I had planned to make a series of berry and veggie art and place them together in an infographic, so consider this a first step to getting that project off the ground. Once I have a format for placing the text-based info however, the rest should fall into place rather easily. Consider this image a teaser of sorts:
Aceida Berry
In addition to the updated berry appearance, I've gone ahead and created new art for Gleetree itself! Its design isn't very different besides the berries, but the better quality art should help convey its personality better I'll be removing the old image of Gleetree from the front page, and I'll also place the new Gleetree image here for convenience:
Gleetree Revamp
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone and added a new Fakemon to the thread! Despite it being a new entry, this one is actually a very old design that I retooled a bit - it's old enough that I could have placed it on the thread from its conception if I had desired. It's called Fawnectar, and they are rather skittish creatures that are quick to flee whenever they witness something dangerous. The way that they run when startled allow for anyone strong enough to resolve the situation. I decided to connect it to the same line as Laambloom as I decided to cut its base form, Baaraam, from the thread. A few design aspects were altered to tie the two together, visually. I'll likely go back and give Laambloom a minor redesign as well sometime in the future. I'll be removing the picture of Baaraam from the thread, and I'll also place Fawnectar in a spoiler box below:
Fawnectar
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and redesigned Jettle so it matches the design used in its current sprite. Since the previous image of Jettle was old, it also gave me a chance to freshen up the art with a more dynamic pose I've gone ahead and removed the older version from the thread, and I'll also place the new art in a spoiler box below:
Jettle
--- EDIT: Took a break from drawing to focus on personal matters, but I've been working on ideas behind the scenes nonetheless. I've recently wanted to spend some time focusing on the starters section of the thread - or the near lack thereof - as I haven't actually added much to that tab over the years. Starters are an essential part of any set of Fakemon, and while I have a lot of ideas for them, I would rather slowly put out a set of starters that have designs I like rather than rushing out a set just to have them. That being said, I do have a few designs nearing completion, so perhaps there will be more added sooner rather than later...! For now though, I'm going to update the Nature Starter's art so that it is more in-line with the recent drawings that I've put out. Since the Nature Starter has both an Emotion Sheet and an Attack Sheet done for it in the past, I'm going to call the revised series the Emotion Sheet EX! I will likely leave both images up, but make the EX sheet more stand-out as it is the most recently updated. I've been putting in some time working on the poses to where I am satisfied with them, but the sheet isn't actually completed yet. Getting six poses ready for presenting takes quite a bit of work compared to a single art piece, and working on starter artwork takes a bit more careful work to get to where I'm happy putting it up. Starters are front-and-center, so I would like to be able to make the art as dynamic as I can make it. But I don't want to leave the post barren after taking such a long break, so I'll place the unfinished sheet here as a preview, and then update this post with the final version later. EDIT: I've finished the image for the Nature Starter, so I'm going to remove the preview and place the final version on the front page, as well as here for convenience:
Nature Starter - Emotion Sheet EX!
As an aside, I've still somehow not come up with a name for this guy Guess I really do have a bad habit of mentally sticking to codenames for Fakemon I make and don't name fast enough.... One day I'll think of something! EDIT: For this update, I've come up with a design for a Fakemon with two opposing powers working together. I wanted to make something that could wield both Fire and Ice for a while now, but never had a good direction for the concept until recently. That being said, most of the effort went into its evolution, so the first form is rather simple in comparison. I've named it Snowiz for now, although its name may change later. The inner body is made of coal, while the outer layer of its body is covered in snow. They blend into the environment disguised as a normal snowman and attack trespassers, making encountering one quite surprising indeed. I'll place the image of it in a spoiler box below:
Snowiz
EDIT: I've gone ahead and finished the new main art for the Nature Starter. This image replaces the previous art for it. I've also gone ahead and wrote a dex description for it, as it had been lacking one. Since it doesn't actually have a name, however, certain aspects will have to be updated later. Anyway, I'll place the new image here for convenience, as usual:
Nature Starter
As an aside, I've also placed a concept sketch of a Fakemon I've called Lilyred. Its concept is rather strange, as most of the design aspects, including its name, came to me in a dream. The concept isn't ready for a dedicate art piece though, so I'll leave it on the front page and come back to it once it is refined enough. EDIT: I've gone ahead and created an additional image for Polia. This image is of a better quality, so it will replace the current image. For now, I'll leave the older image up alongside the new one. I'll also place the new image here for convenience:
Polia
EDIT: I've gone ahead and revamped another Fakemon design. This week's update is for Pebbark, and brings it in-line with the other art around it. Despite not much changing about its original design, the design itself is much more fleshed out and proportioned. I've also gone ahead and updated its Dex Entry, as it was rather old. I'll put the art here in a spoiler box below, as usual:
Pebbark
EDIT: This week's update features the middle evolution of Silkie. Tessilkie's design was finished quite a while ago, but this design went through various changes in order to connect the first form and final form together better. This is Hinamorie, which is based on the cocoon phase of a silkworm, as well as a type of empress doll. Unlike most cocoon forms, Hinamorie are alert, albeit immobile. The silk wrappings around its body let it withstand any kind of weather, so Hinamorie are often surrounded by other Elementals that wish to receive wrappings of their own. I'll place the image of it here in a spoiler box below:
Hinamorie
EDIT: This week's update is a bit different. Rather than a new Fakemon or a repose, this art features an already existing Fakemon in a different form. The idea behind this was for a select few Fakemon species to unlock the ability to augment their powers by using them creatively - a type of awakening. By doing so, their typing and stats would change, but the core design of the monster itself is unaffected. These monsters would serve as something akin to optional boss battles. I'll be calling any designs featuring these kinds of upgraded designs Apex Forms. These forms are quite rare, so there will likely only be a small handful of them. As such, the first Apex form depicts an upgraded variant of Squarrel. While typically an adventurous free-spirit, complete mastery of its power over wind and clouds has it gain access to potent lightning manipulation through generation of a mesocyclone from its tail. It can also generate lightning from the vapors around its head, which it is able to grab and throw at targets. The art of any Apex form I make will go on the front page under the base form of whatever Fakemon it belongs to. I'll also place the art of it below in a spoiler box for convenience:
Squarrel (Apex)
EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and made updated artwork for the base variant of Stellel. These Fakemon reside in Setone's Pyramid Palace, an ancient, sacred structure that has only recently begun deep exploration. Stellel are essentially the mummified remains of an ancient feline Fakemon, reanimated due to the spiritual energies that flow through the palace itself. I reworked certain aspects of the art to make it more detailed, but the design itself only received mild adjustments. I'll place the new art in a spoiler box below:
Stellel
EDIT: For this week's drawing, I've gone ahead and made another piece of artwork for Mynami. I wanted to go back and revamp certain aspects of its design, such as the gemstone it wears and adjust a few proportions. This art is intended to replace the current image displayed for it, but I will leave the older art on the front page alongside the new one for now. I'll place the new art for it in a spoiler box below, for convenience:
Mynami Revamp
EDIT: This week's update features a redesign of an old Fakemon. This time, it's a redesign of Mostone, which was based on a mossy rock. While this redesign still retains these features, aspects of fungi were added, and its ability to act as a guide was worked into the design directly. This concept is a result of a collaboration-of-sorts between a friend and I. Mostone generally keep to themselves, sheltered within its rocky outer layer. Travelers lost among the desert who are generous enough to give Mostone water as tribute can be directed in the direction of safety in exchange. This is due to the underground network that extends beneath the desert sands, so each Mostone are aware of the surroundings of others of its species. To defend against desert predators, Mostone can launch spherical stones out of the flower protruding from its rocky cap. These abilities combined also allow Mostone to act as seismographs, detecting the direction of earthquakes. Setone residents in ancient times were able to rely on Mostone's abilities for protection from incoming threats underground, and this treat Mostone with respect. I'll place the image of Mostone below in a spoiler tag:
Mostone Revamp
EDIT: This week's update features an evolution-of-sorts to an already existing Fakemon. Stellel is a rather old concept of mine, and I hadn't finalized all of the design details about its evolution until somewhat recently. For those residing in Pyramid Palace, many do not undergo typical evolutions found elsewhere as they are near-immortal beings, or simply are not truly alive anymore. Rather, these Fakemon have a smaller, energy-efficient form, and an "unleashed" form that they take in battle. Outside of battle, they can swap between the two forms if they have enough experience. Stellel has always been somewhat of a strange concept, as it came to me in a dream. I wanted to show off both the unassuming nature of its sealed form, as well as the ferociousness of its unleashed form in its design. The word "Sheut" refers to a shadow, and is an apt descriptor of this form. Stellel that have been preserved throughout centuries in body, but not in spirit, arise without memories of their former lives. As they wander through the bygone chambers of the palace, Stellel are able to absorb spiritual energy from that location and take on this form in battle. Stellel-Sheut are fierce protectors of their home, and employ powerful spirit-based attacks alongside a magically-enhanced body to overcome those that trespass. I will place the image of this transformed Stellel on the front page, as well as in a spoiler box below for convenience:
Stellel (Sheut)
As an aside, the front page may have Fakemon tabs that have the word (Placeholder) on them. These are accompanied by sketches that I may have recently produced. These tabs indicate a Fakemon that I am committed to finishing, but have some aspect of their design that I wish to change later. For the time being, I will leave them up in order to produce finished drawings at a slightly faster rate EDIT: For this week's update, I've gone ahead and redesigned a Fakemon that was previously added to the thread. As I had previously added Fawnectar as a redesign of Baaraam, I went ahead and redesigned Laambloom in order to connect the two concepts better. I've also gone ahead and renamed the concept to Guarcadia, which fits better with its conceptual design. Originally, this 'mon would have been part of a three-stage line, with the middle form having a special form change into its final form. I recently had an idea to use this concept elsewhere, so I essentially made that final form into the direct evolution of the first form. These Fakemon roam the hillside of Perennial Hills, acting as guardians of the land. In peaceful times, they act as babysitters for other Elementals, and are able to transport large tribes of Elementals across the hillside so that they may interact and play together. During times of crisis, such as a forest fire or finding an injured human, these Fakemon brandish a flowering branch and seek aid from others who can help. Villagers living in Pandine, as well as other Elementals recognize the significance of the branch and are motivated to come for aid. In this way, they act as a troop leader who brings aid where aid is needed. Out of all of the typical Fakemon in Pandine, this one best represents the entire region as a whole, so I wanted to ensure its attributes came across well. I've gone ahead and replaced Laambloom's spot on the front page. I'll also place Guarcadia's image in a spoiler box below:
Guarcadia
EDIT: I took some time these past few weeks to work on a new art piece for the thread, while I am finally happy to reveal This update features is a new entry in the Zephair and Friends theme, where I draw a small group of Fakemon in a particular location. This one is modeled after a particularly peaceful area within Setone's harsh biome. The Oasis Paradise is known for being an elusive, relaxing haven run by Polia's evolutionary family! This is a Summer-themed picture, so it should be more suitable for this time of year This image will replace the current Easter-themed opening image that was on the front page. I will likely make minor updates and improvements on it over the upcoming days, so the image will be updated frequently until everything is put into place. I'll move the previous Easter image to the Seasonal Art tab on the front page. The new image is front-and-center on the front page, but I'll also place the image below for convenience:
Zephair and Friends - Summer at Oasis Paradise!
EDIT: It's come to my attention that some of my recent artworks have had color balancing issues, so the end result looks duller than what I intended. I've been experimenting with more in-depth use of layering techniques and such as of late, but I'm not exactly sure what the root cause of the problem is. The finalized images present fine when opened with my paint program, but are dull otherwise. I've gone ahead and adjusted the colors on Guarcadia and the recent Zephair and Friends pieces on the front page - while these colors are much closer to my intended vision, they still aren't 100% replicated. Also, these adjusted pieces, when opened using my paint program, appear extremely saturated. I plan on slowing my pace of artwork until I've gotten this issue fixed. EDIT: 9/8/23 - I'm currently working on finishing lineart produced over the last few months, as well as finalizing designs for the starters! This post will be updated over the next few weeks! EDIT: I've acquired new digital art software, so the issue with the colors have been mostly resolved (I switch between the two programs as I'm learning to use the newer one). To that end, I've been steadily working on some new artworks over the last few months, without updating this page. For starters, well - here's the Water Starter! While still unnamed at the moment, it's design is based on a type of snail that lives above water, floating on a raft made of bubbles, while also incorporating aspects of water sports, specifically wavefoiling. It lives in a secluded island environment, and is able to conjure bubbles both as a shield and as a method to move quickly. I'll place its design here for convenience:
Water Starter!
Secondly, I've been working on a bit of a special project in the meantime. As I've gotten more finalized designs into the thread, I've been considering having one of my designs produced in a physical medium. There are many artists and creatives out there, each with their own stories and worlds, and it would be nice to have a small part of mine in a more tangible form. To that end, I had a commission done for one of my favorite Fakemon, Mynami, and was able to recently finish the project Thanks to the Budsies staff who were able to patiently work with the design pieces and criticism offered. A picture of the plush is within Mynami's entry on the front page, but I'll place the finished design here as well (it's wearing sunglasses as an accessory!):
Mynami Plushie Commission (Budsies)
Additionally, to celebrate the creation of this plush, I went and created updated art for Mynami! This piece is more detailed and has a more lively pose to highlight its character a little better. This pose will replace the previous artwork on the front page. I'll place the new art here for convenience:
Mynami Crystal Revamp
Finally, I've gone ahead and created a redesign for Echora, which is a fairly old entry on the thread. This redesign, although fairly typical, is actually more of a fusion between two different monsters - with the Ice/Spirit Echora serving as the primary, and the unnamed Ice/Light Snow Angel concept as the inspiration. This new rendition combines Echora's singing abilities and ability to transfigure its body into mist, alongside the general body structure and typing of the Snow Angel concept. I'll place the finished redesign for Echora here for convenience:
Echora Snow Angel Fusion/Redesign
EDIT: I've been wanting to make a new installment in the series of landscape-focused artworks collectively titled Zephair's Travels. To that end, I've created a Christmas-themed piece of art with a handful of Snowspire Mountains residents making an appearance. The large sleigh front-and-center in the artwork is dubbed the Crystal Chariot, which is able to fly through the skies and deliver good cheer with the aid of Mynami's Crystal Growth enchantment. Zephair provides aid by fetching presents from the sack-of-gifts as needed As an aside, the Christmas-themed accessories in this artwork come from actual items used to decorate the Mynami plush during the holiday season This picture was delayed due to ill-timed illness on my end, but I've since found time to finish the artwork. This image replaces the Summer image that was the opener for the thread - the previous image was moved to the Miscellaneous section of the front page. The current image of Zephair's Travels is up on the front page, but I'll also place it here for convenience:
Zephair's Travels - Christmas Crystal Chariot Convoy!
Bonus! Mynami Plushie Christmas Dress-Up
EDIT: Following the updated Zephair's Travels image, I went ahead and made an updated image for Zephair itself! This image has it in a more dynamic pose than before, emphasizing how it moves in the air. As an aside, I've revamped a couple of berries in the Berries and Veggies section, which I've placed there. I've also gone ahead and placed the new Zephair image on the front page, but I'll post it here for convenience:
Zephair Breezy Revamp
