Fainting Yep, both pokemon will now faint just like in the real games, no more PT-style fading.

I will release the battle engine beta when I have finished the things on the list. There is really not too long to go now. I hope to release the beta with the 3 starters, each with 4 moves (including normal, status inducing, weather changing, stat changing and multiple turn moves) so you can fully see what the engine is capable of. And of course, so you can report glitches to me

Hurry up? Making a battle engine is hard work - the hardest part of a pokemon game according to GF. I'll take as long as I like.

I definitely think I can get a beta done before Christmas for you all to try out. Just a couple of things left to do. EDIT: Just modified the textbox slightly, made the battling faster and less laggy. I'm doing multiple-turn-moves now. EDIT (2): After about an hour of work, I have made Jade's battle engine run at a constant 30 fps (on my computer which isn't too good).

No. The room speed is 30, so the max it will run is 30 - which is what it rubs at on my computer despite its bad spec.

The FPS is fine on my computer. It was just the battery setting that did it for me. Except on high perfermance, if set to 60 FPS it only runs on 45-50, however it runs at a constant 30 if set to 30. Weird o_O

It's going to be kept at 30 anyway, that should be fine for most people. Here are the attack types I've covered, and the ones I need to do. (Covered is green, working on is yellow, to do is red) Normal Attacks - Like Tackle, Ice Fang or Quick Attack Attacks Over Multiple Turns - Like Hyberbeam, Solar Beam or Blast Burn Mores That Have An Effect After A Certain Amount Of Turns - Like Perish Song, Doom Desire or Future Sight Mores That Repeat - Like Fury Swipes and Bullet Seed Tell me if I've missed any. Moves that cause status/weather effects are included in the above. Now, since all of these are done (though the last could do with a little more work so animations could be used): I proclaim: Attacks over multiple turns to be done! Now I'm working on accuracy and evasion. Since I can't find the calculations which check whether a move hits or misses, I'm going to have to make up my own.....

yea tri attack just uses 3 types of attacks at once but im not actually sure what type its classified as. but its all at once. and also what would encore be classified as? it makes other pokemon use the move over and over without showing the menu so u cant switch out either. and what about disable or metronome or transform?

Sorry, I forgot tri attack attacked seperately. Encore is treated as a move like hyper-beam or solar beam except it affects the other pokemon. Disable is like Perish Song. It has the effect after a certain amount of turns to change the pokemon's move back to use-able again. Metronome is just a normal attack, like tackle, but instead of doing damage, it chooses an attack and performs it. It just takes one turn. Transform is a complicated one, but it would be in the same category as tackle. All of these can be done now. Fury swipes can now be done too.

Status effects Accuracy/Evasion Yep, they're done. Next up: confusion. This should take very little time indeed. Then I've just got weathers to do, followed by a little bit of polishing and the first beta will be released. The first beta will not contain move animations. The beta after that will. But then again, neither does PT's so you can wait a little longer. EDIT: Confusion will be put off for a bit. That can be done after the first beta too. It was just too annoying. So, the only thing left to do before release is weather effects!

YES! IT IS THE MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! THE FIRST BETA OF THE BATTLE ENGINE IS HERE! Enjoy: Pokemon Jade Battle Engine Beta 0.1 Tell us what you think. We have given Brimarine a great moveset so you can try out different types of moves. This is no indication of what Brimarine's moveset will actually be.

The EXP is actually completely correct. The thing that is wrong is the EXP needed to get to the next level. I might make fainting better at some point. It's better than PT's fading already though.
